There is a positive energy that emanates from what has become the country’s largest international sporting event – The Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon (SCMM). Business barons, sports personalities, film stars, models and of course, your regular Mumbaikar, shed their inhibitions and participate in the one event that brings the city together to run for a cause.

In the last few years, crores of rupees have been raised for various charities through this event. CCDT has participated in the Marathon for 2 years now and we look forward to having you join Team CCDT in the next Mumbai Marathon.

In 2005, our fund raising efforts raised Rs, 4,88,402 for CCDT. This amount helped initiate a shelter for young boys living in Kamathipura (the largest red light area in Mumbai). This year, we raised close to 9 lacs through this event. These funds have been added to the corpus which will sustain CCDT projects as well as contribute towards educational scholarships, vocational training programmes and even residential hostels for children and young people infected/affected by HIV/AIDS.

Who participated in the CCDT Team in 2006?

• 48 CCDT children
• 50 CCDT staff (there were several drop-outs due to ill health & other reasons)
• 100 CCDT friends
• 3 Dream Teamers
• 20 runners from the Corporate Challenge Team from MTV
• 33 runners from the Hyatt Regency
• 200 runners from the People Group (Shaadi.com)
