The bright and beautiful annual celebration of Diwali is here. The word Diwali means “rows of lighted lamps” and it is known as the Festival of Lights.  In celebration, children from our Crisis Intervention Center: Ashray participated in games, dancing and Rangoli competitions.

Colours are most noticeable in the traditional Rangoli patterns that grace the entrance of every home at this time of the year. Diwali would be incomplete without the traditional rangoli to welcome guests, both divine and human. Our children at Ashray put their creativity to work and created several beautiful Rangoli patterns around the center. The activity allowed both children, staff members and teachers to bond together.

Ashray was lit up with the bright smiles of our children as they thoroughly enjoyed the celebrations.
